50 Years of the Sunday Times Magazine
'At a time when newspapers and magazines are in broad decline and scrambling to transfer to the internet, the Sunday Times Magazine 50th Anniversary exhibition currently running at the Saatchi Gallery in Chelsea is a welcome celebration of the power of print journalism.' Scott Wills Design were commissioned with the task of designing the exhibit which showcased a series of memorable covers and photographs, including work by Don McCullin, David Bailey, Eve Arnold, Richard Avedon, Sam Taylor-Wood, Terry-O’Neill, Chris Floyd and Stuart Franklin, as well as celebrating some of the most prestigious writers to be published in the magazine over the years including Ian Fleming, Martin Amis, Bruce Chatwin, Jilly Cooper, Zoe Heller, James Fox and Nicholas Tomalin. I worked closely with Ross Whitehead of Scott Wills Design and the Sunday Times to create the projection for the exhibition. The film celebrates writers, featuring quotes from articles covering iconic events of the past 50 years, from Philip Norman on the End of the Beatles, Tim Rayment on the 10th anniversary of 9/11 and Stanley Kubrick on the atomic bomb. The exhibition opened last week and will be running until February 18th. Opening hours 10am - 6pm. Photos by Ross Whitehead.
