Sonic Sideshow
A short film by Judy for Aste Amundsen and Nathaniel Slade about their creation, the Sonic Soul Suits. The film explains how the suits work and demonstrates the many ways of experimenting with them. For the film the suits play a cut-up of the track 'Up His Nose it Goes' by Freddy Frogs, although any selection of sounds can be loaded into the suits to play as you wish. An array of body patches across both suits allow the players to trigger sound samples via a wireless link to a computer program. In a live setting the custom-built program also allows users to record themselves, or members of the audience, simply by touching a patch and speaking into a microphone. Its clever but very fun and its not the only thing these guys do brilliantly, check out the website for more.
